3D Printing Saves Lives in the Fight Against Coronavirus.

#MASKFORMEDICS is a nationwide initiative aimed at helping protect the health of medical professionals fighting for the lives of COVID-19 patients, as well as other sick patients. The coronavirus is taking an increasing toll in Poland, and healthcare services are struggling with a shortage of protective and safety equipment to prevent infections.

Due to this difficult situation, our team at Hobby-Store.pl, together with FootMedical Gdynia and Decathlon, has decided to join the initiative. By utilizing 3D printing technology, we transform diving masks into life-saving masks.

How does it work? It’s simple—by printing the necessary components, known as adapters, developed by Italian and Czech engineers, the mask can serve as protective gear or as a ventilatory aid, assisting patients with breathing difficulties.

Anyone can get involved in the #MASKFORMEDICS campaign and help. If you don’t have access to a 3D printer to create the adapters yourself, you can purchase or donate a used mask at the designated collection point. All masks are thoroughly sterilized before being sent to hospitals.
